The first-ever Ahmedabad International
Film Festival (AIFF) will place the city on the global cinemap and
bring the best of world cinema to movie lovers. The four-day festival
starts from June 25 and would act as a platform for short filmmakers to
showcase their work. The festival would also feature competitive
categories such as Feature Competitive, Short Competitive and also Care
HIV+.
Organised by Fulmarxx Integrated Filmed
Entertainment Company, the festival would see some of the leading names
in the Indian film industry as well as world cinema assemble in the
city. Fulmarxx has tied up with the Berlin International Film Festival,
Tampere Film Festival (Finland), Dubai International Film Festival and
NDTV Lumiere and would screen films in various genres like comedy,
drama, feature, documentary and thriller from across the world in
various languages like English, French, German, Korean and Spanish.
Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita, Laurent Cantet’s The Class and Fatih
Akin’s The Edge of Heaven are some of the films to be screened.
